Domestic Terrorism

Participants in this course learn about domestic terrorist groups and how to recognize indicators relating to domestic terrorism. There has been a tremendous increase in narco-terrorism activities involving Transnational Criminal Organizations. These relationships will be explained, and investigative techniques will be discussed to assist in dismantling these organizations operating in communities across the United States. Students will explore law enforcement's roles and responsibilities in combating domestic terrorism.

Interview and Interrogation for Law Enforcement (Advanced)

This course is designed to complement and enhance the NCTC Behavioral Analysis/Interrogation training initiative. This course relies on participant interaction with peers and role-players to simulate the techniques and practices presented by the instructor. Students will be critiqued and analyzed through video-taped role-playing scenarios.

Open Source Intelligence

This course is designed for criminal intelligence analysts, special agents, and other investigators. Students with any level of familiarity with the Internet and computers, from beginning to advanced, will find this course beneficial. Student will learn what information is available on various sites and how to integrate that information into criminal investigations and criminal intelligence analysis.

Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs

This course presents an historical perspective of early motorcycle clubs and their evolvement into today’s traditional outlaw motorcycle gangs (OMG). The historical perspective will continue with a discussion of each of the major groups. In addition, the students will be exposed to the current status of a large portion of clubs who operate in the northeast as well as a nationwide perspective.

Social Networking

This course covers the essentials patrol officers, investigators, probation officers, School Resource Officers and anyone in the criminal justice system needs to know about social networking. Various types of crime are rooted in social networking activity. Drugs, scams, identity theft, flash mobs, sexting, sextortion, cyber bullying, even school shootings can be attributed to social media. This course will break down the elements of social networking, examine what information is collected and demonstrate what a great investigative/intelligence tool it can be.

Tactics for Narcotic Warrants

This course focuses on the tactical techniques of high-risk warrant service. Through demonstration and practical application, students use a high-risk entry facility to practice entry, search, and extraction techniques taught throughout the course from decision-making through warrant execution.

Video Surveillance Techniques

This course is designed on the premise that participants have little or no experience with video. Students will be exposed to state-of-the-art video surveillance systems and will be offered the opportunity to use them in realistic “hands-on” scenarios.
