Firearm Trafficking & Illicit Trade Arms Investigations

Gun crime suppression tactics are often conducted in a reactive manner by seizing firearms after a violent crime has been committed. Historically, firearms are also seized after enforcement activity related to narcotic operations. While these types of seizures are important, it has become increasingly necessary to proactive target criminals involved the illegal distribution of firearms.

In-depth case law will be presented covering the various state and federal firearm law violations that can be used to proactively target criminals. It is imperative that officers have a true understanding of the elements each firearm law offense to ensure a successful prosecution.

This two-day training course will focus on conducting controlled purchases of firearms utilizing confidential informants and undercover officers. The participants will receive information on various types of common street weapons, pricing, and possible modifications.

Human Trafficking

This course covers 16 hours of first-hand experiences and findings within organizations engaged in criminal activities supported by human trafficking. Human trafficking, smuggling, prostitution and modern-day slavery is in the United States and prospering with very little resistance. Every student will understand the immigration process and how it is being fraudulently abused. Students will be able to identify possible fronts located in their prospective areas of operation and will learn interviewing techniques and questions needed to identify, investigate, infiltrate and convict these organizations.

Interview and Interrogation for Law Enforcement (Advanced)

This course will build upon the training and experience of the students who have attended the Basic Interview and Interrogation course and/or have prior training and experience with interview and interrogation and need to increase their knowledge, skills and abilities. This course will review and confirm the knowledge and skills of basic interview and interrogation and provide additional tactics. Students will be immersed in practical role play interviews to receive experiential training and skills.

Interview and Interrogation for Law Enforcement (Basic)

This basic interview and interrogation course will instruct students who are inexperienced or new to interview and interrogation or those who want to increase their skills. This course will provide lessons and practical exercises.

Law Enforcement Intelligence

Law Enforcement Intelligence is a crucial aspect to combating crime in the 21st century. Modern day technology continues to evolve; however, law enforcement has been behind the curve. Unfortunately, many law enforcement agencies are attempting to fight current criminal activities with outdated methods. This course is designed to help bring officers and investigators up to speed with new technology trends and give them practical/applicable tools to successfully conduct online investigations involving open source and social media. 

Leading and Managing a Task Force Unit

This course is for all levels of supervision, new or current supervisors assigned to a task force or drug unit. Supervisors will be taught using classroom instruction and tabletop exercises.

Methamphetamine Clandestine Lab Safety

Law enforcement is confronted with illegal drug manufacturing processes which expose officers to the violence associated with drug organizations but also chemical hazards from these processes. OSHA requires employers to training officers working in these environments to the Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response (HAZWOPER). This class meets the OSHA training requirement and teaches officers to operate safely in the hazardous environment while dismantling a lab. This course uses classroom lecture along with practical exercises to teach the skills necessary to operate safely in the drug lab.

Mexican Drug Cartel Investigations

Mexican Drug Trafficking Organizations are impacting communities in nearly every city in the United States. This problem can no longer be viewed as a “Border Issue.” The majority of the drugs distributed and consumed in the U.S. originate in Mexico. The cartel leaders have strategically formed relationships with American Street gangs to flood the streets with illicit drugs.

Middle East Focus

This 2-day course will familiarize attendees with the history of the Middle East and the culture of regional peoples with special focus on Islam as a religion and as a pattern for living. The program will enable law enforcement to develop strategies that bridge the gap between misunderstanding and beneficial engagement with the Muslim community and individuals of Middle Eastern descent from all religions.

Mid-Level Narcotics Investigations

Basic narcotic training courses focus on drug identification, types of informants, operational planning, and search warrant execution. Advanced narcotic training courses focus on drug cartels, money laundering, complex conspiracy investigations, and interstate/international wiretap cases. While these two types of training programs are a necessary part of drug enforcement, there is a considerable gap in the training available to law enforcement officers that target mid-level drug dealers.
