Virtual Reality Training
InVeris SURVIVR Virtual Reality Police Training System
Course Description:
The InVeris SURVIVR system is a state-of-the-art virtual reality (VR) system that creates an immersive training experience for officers. The system utilizes a wireless headset to allow freedom of movement within the scenario while realistic weapons and tools afford the officer a chance to practice with the equipment they carry every day (Glock 17, Taser CEW, OC spray, Flashlight, and patrol rifle are available).
NCTC personnel will operate the system and customize scenarios to meet specific training objectives as directed by the agency training officer. It is suggested that the training officer observe participants during the scenarios to provide feedback on agency policy.
Participation in the training will allow officers to:
- Practice de-escalation techniques in a wide variety of settings
- Build situational awareness due to the 360-degree environment of virtual reality
- Respond to situations utilizing the full use-of-force continuum
- Apply agency policy during evolving situations
